On a trip to my local chemist for a certain type of hair shampoo I was amazed at how many different types of creams and cures there are available to the average person to actually buy over the counter for Arthritis relief, which made me think that there are probably many more are available on prescription as well. Looking it up on the Internet there are millions of websites and some that tell you about the so called wonder drugs that Doctor’s can prescribe and on reading more it’s plain to see that like other medicines of this type some of them do have chronic side affects and do not actually cure the disease.
I guess at this point when a Doctor sees a patient who is suffering with Arthritis its so easy to write out a prescription so that the patient will have some form of pain relief that will help them to a somewhat normal life. But knowing how bad Arthritis pain can be is this truly enough and are we being fobbed off to simply get us out of the surgery so that the Doctor can then see the next patient so that his money keeps rolling in.
For those of you that have read different articles I have produced you will know that I think that in general the Medical profession does a great job and that some of the life saving operations that go on every day are a credit to their systems. Yet on reading different accounts from patients that are currently taking Arthritis treatments from their Doctor’s it does make me think that perhaps not enough is being done. At this point I do know that money tends to rule most businesses and I’m sure that the major drug companies plough incredible amounts of money into research and without it many of these life saving operations would not go ahead.
Perhaps I may be wrong here and how I always look for the easy way out and perhaps that alternative cures are that easy way out yet when you read of people being cured in the comfort of their own homes so why do the Doctor’s not use this option to get their credibility up even higher?

People with arthritis are often afraid to exercise, but there is no reason not to exercise. In fact, the more you do, the more you will be able to do. Adequate and appropriate exercise will send you on your way to a more pain-free and active lifestyle.
To build confidence and move around your fear, start slowly, and gradually increase intensity and frequency at a comfortable level for you. If you feel anxious, spend a few minutes breathing deeply before you begin exercising.
Your exercise routine should slowly add land-based exercise, which includes walking and gentle stretching of your hamstrings (backs of thighs), calves and shoulders. Simply moving your arms or legs without added weight or resistance is good for increasing range of motion in joints. Later, add some resistance (weight), to exercises to build the muscles that support your joints. Don’t hesitate to use an assistive device if needed. A cane or rolling walker could reduce stress on your joints significantly and enable you to walk farther and longer.
Your exercise intensity should start slow and low. That means doing exercises slowly, and avoiding positions and movements that are painful. Focus on low repetitions (five to 10 initially) and low resistance (weight). When you are comfortable with the amount of weight and the number of repetitions, slowly add two to four more repetitions and no more than 5 pounds of weight. If you’re starting a walking program, begin a slow pace on a flat surface, then periodically increase the speed and incline.
Arthritis exercise is most effective if performed at a level of intensity that is moderate to slightly higher than moderate. Soreness that persists two hours or less after exercising is OK. But if you experience more than two hours of pain and discomfort afterward, you may have done too much and should modify, but not give up your routine.
Regular moderate exercise performed consistently over time is the key. Ideally, you’ll exercise every day, but you can work up to that. Try starting at two days a week. Establish a schedule that works for you, but remember to be flexible.

If you suffer from arthritis, you have probably heard of some very interesting home remedies that will heal your ailment. From the juice of garlic as a pain reliever to sucking on a lemon, it seems there is a home remedy that can utilize almost any household item you can imagine. Gin and raisins arthritis relief has risen in popularity since the early 1990′s and is perhaps the most popular home remedy for arthritis.

What is arthritis and what causes it? There are ineffective that save treatments for relief. Arthritis is actually a family of diseases, with osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis being the most comment. Because of these studies, many doctors have stopped using these drugs.
